Gauge Pack - Description
DESCRIPTION
The instrument cluster includes the following analog gauges:
- Engine Temperature Gauge (24)
- Fuel Gauge (14)
- Oil Pressure Gauge (10)
- Speedometer (11)
- Tachometer (1)
- Voltage Gauge (5)
Gauges are illuminated by LEDs that are soldered onto the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) electronic circuit board. Cluster illumination is accomplished by dimmable LEDs soldered onto the IPC electronic circuit, which illuminate each of the gauges for visibility when the exterior lighting is turned ON. The gauges and LED units are not available for service replacement, and if damaged or inoperative, the entire IPC must be replaced.
ENGINE TEMPERATURE GAUGE
An engine coolant temperature gauge is standard equipment on all instrument clusters. The engine coolant temperature gauge is located in the lower left quadrant of the instrument cluster, next to the tachometer. The gauge consists of a movable gauge needle or pointer controlled by the instrument cluster circuitry and a fixed 90 degree scale on the cluster overlay that reads left-to-right from C (or Cold) to H (or Hot) for gasoline engines. An International Control and Display Symbol icon for Engine Coolant Temperature is located on the cluster overlay, directly below the left end of the gauge scale.
The engine coolant temperature gauge graphics are white against a black field except for a single red graduation at the high end of the gauge scale making them clearly visible within the instrument cluster in daylight. The gauge needle has internal optical illumination. Gauge illumination is provided by Light Emitting Diode (LED) units located on the instrument cluster electronic circuit board.
FUEL GAUGE
A fuel gauge is standard equipment on all instrument clusters. This gauge is located in the lower right quadrant of the instrument cluster, right of the speedometer. This gauge consists of a movable gauge needle or pointer controlled by the instrument cluster circuitry and a fixed 90 degree scale on the cluster overlay that reads left-to-right from E (or Empty) to F (or Full).
The fuel gauge graphics are white against a black field except for a single red graduation at the low end of the gauge scale making them clearly visible within the instrument cluster in daylight. When illuminated from behind by the panel lamps dimmer controlled cluster general illumination lighting with the exterior lamps turned ON. The gauge needle has internal optical illumination. Gauge illumination is provided by an Light Emitting Diode (LED) located on the instrument cluster electronic circuit board.
OIL PRESSURE GAUGE
An oil pressure gauge is standard equipment on all instrument clusters. This gauge is located in the upper right quadrant of the speedometer. This gauge consists of a movable gauge needle or pointer controlled by the instrument cluster circuitry and a fixed 90 degree scale on the cluster overlay that reads left-to-right from L (or Low) to H (or High).
An International Control and Display Symbol icon for Engine Oil is located on the cluster overlay, on. The oil pressure gauge graphics are white against a black field except for a single red graduation at the low end of the gauge scale making them clearly visible within the instrument cluster in daylight. When illuminated from behind by the panel lamps dimmer controlled cluster general illumination lighting with the exterior lamps turned ON, the white graphics appear white and the red graphics still appear red. The gauge needle has internal optical illumination. Gauge illumination is provided by Light Emitting Diode (LED) units located on the instrument cluster electronic circuit board.
SPEEDOMETER
A speedometer is standard equipment on all instrument clusters. The speedometer is located next to the tachometer, just to the right of center in the instrument cluster. The speedometer consists of a movable gauge needle or pointer controlled by the instrument cluster circuitry and a fixed 210 degree primary scale on the gauge dial face.
The speedometer reads left-to-right either from 0 to 120 mph, or from 0 to 200 km/h, depending upon the market for which the vehicle is manufactured. Each version also has a secondary inner scale on the gauge dial face that provides the equivalent opposite units from the primary scale. Text appearing on the cluster overlay just below the hub of the speedometer needle abbreviates the unit of measure for the primary scale (either mph or km/h), followed by the unit of measure for the secondary scale.
The speedometer graphics are white (primary scale) and gray (secondary scale) against a black field making them clearly visible within the instrument cluster in daylight. The gauge needle has internal optical illumination. Gauge illumination is provided by Light Emitting Diode (LED) units located on the instrument cluster electronic circuit board.
TACHOMETER
A tachometer is standard equipment on all instrument clusters. The tachometer is located to the left of the speedometer, just to the left of center in the instrument cluster. The tachometer consists of a movable gauge needle or pointer controlled by the instrument cluster circuitry and a fixed 210 degree scale on the gauge dial face. The tachometer reads left-to-right from 0 to 7. The text RPM X 1000 is imprinted on the cluster overlay directly below the hub of the tachometer needle. This text identifies that each number on the tachometer scale is to be multiplied by 1000 rpm.
The tachometer graphics are white against a black field making them clearly visible within the instrument cluster in daylight. When illuminated from behind by the panel lamps dimmer controlled cluster general illumination lighting, the scale graphics appear white and the red graphics still appear red. The gauge needle has internal optical illumination. Gauge illumination is provided by a Light Emitting Diode (LED) unit located on the instrument cluster electronic circuit board.
VOLTAGE GAUGE
A voltage gauge is standard equipment on all high line instrument clusters. This gauge is located in the upper left quadrant. This gauge consists of a movable gauge needle or pointer controlled by the instrument cluster circuitry and a fixed 90 degree scale on the cluster overlay that reads left-to-right from L (or Low) to H (or High) and an International Control and Display Symbol icon for Battery Charging Condition is located within the gauge itself directly below the gauge scale.
The voltage gauge graphics are white against a black field except for a single red graduation at each end of the gauge scale making them clearly visible within the instrument cluster in daylight. When illuminated from behind by the panel lamps dimmer controlled cluster general illumination lighting with the exterior lamps turned ON, the white graphics appear white and the red graphics still appear red. The gauge needle has internal optical illumination. Gauge illumination is provided by a Light Emitting Diode (LED) located on the instrument cluster electronic circuit board.
