Wi-Fi Hot Spot - Operation

WI-FI HOT SPOT

Vehicles equipped with the optional Uconnect(TM) Access system are capable of becoming Wi-Fi hot spots with the Wi-Fi Hot Spot system. The Radio Receiver Module (RRM) (also known as the radio or the head unit) includes both an integral internal Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) (also known as Wi-Fi) antenna and an embedded cellular connection. Along with a paid daily, weekly or monthly subscription service these features allow the vehicle to become a Wireless Access Point (WAP) for access to the internet through Wi-Fi capable and enabled devices.

An Application Settings menu of the RRM allows the adjustment of the WAP password and security settings. The external combination antenna can be diagnosed and repaired separately from the RRM.
