Body Control Module (BCM)
B2206-00-CURRENT VIN MISSING / MISMATCH
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.
Theory of Operation
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) transmits the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) as a network message on the CAN C bus. The Body Control Module (BCM) receives and stores the VIN.
- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.
- Set Condition:
The current VIN message from the PCM is different than the VIN stored in the BCM.
Diagnostic Test
1. PCM FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE INSTALLED
NOTE: This DTC is set when a PCM from another vehicle is installed into the current vehicle.
Has another PCM been installed?
Yes
- Confirm the PCM was replaced. Powertrain Control Module - Removal.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Powertrain Verification Test.
No
- Go To 2
2. OTHER CAN C MODULES SET VIN MISMATCH
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Is the VIN Mismatch DTC set in other CAN C modules?
Yes
- Replace the PCM. Powertrain Control Module - Removal.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Powertrain Verification Test.
No
- Replace the BCM. Body Control Module - Removal.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test .
