UConnect Access System - Reinstall Applications






UCONNECT ACCESS SYSTEM - REINSTALL APPLICATIONS

NOTE: The following procedure is provided to the dealer technician as INFORMATION ONLY. The dealer is not expected to perform this procedure or to oversee it, but may need to explain to the vehicle owner or operator that some features and applications may not be fully restored and overall system response may be slowed until the process has completed. This procedure is intended for use by the vehicle owner or operator whenever issues might be encountered where the incorrect or incomplete installation of applications (also known as apps) or software has resulted in corrupt system behaviors. The upload and download processes of the Reinstall Applications procedure may take up to an hour, depending upon the number of apps and with adequate cellular services accessibility. Overall system response may be slowed until the process has completed.

A Reinstall Applications procedure is available for the Uconnect(TM) telecommunication system within the Radio Receiver Module (RRM) (also known as the radio or the head unit). This procedure is also known as the ReSeT (RST), the Uninstall And Reload procedure or the Restore Process of the RRM. Regardless of what you wish to call it, this procedure removes from and reloads the following to the RRM:

- User profile

- User preferences

- Applications (apps)

- Subscriptions

- Other user configured system aspects

During this procedure, all of the removed data is uploaded to the cloud server and then reinstalled from the cloud server. The Reinstall Applications procedure is initiated through the touchscreen of the RRM.

1. Navigate through the My Stuff > Settings > Uninstall & Reload menus to the Reinstall Applications screen.

2. Use the scroll bar on the right to scroll up and down to view and read the entire screen contents.

3. Confirm the Profile: name and Email: address for the vehicle owner are correct.

4. Press the Continue soft key to move to the Authentication screen, or press the Help soft key for additional information.

5. Enter the Uconnect ID: and Password: data on the Authentication screen.

6. Press the Continue soft key to begin the Reinstall Applications procedure, the Help soft key for additional information or the Cancel soft key to abort the Reinstall Applications procedure.

7. When the Reinstall Applications Complete screen appears, the Reinstall Applications procedure has completed. Press the Continue soft key to return to the previous menu.
