UCONNECT ACCESS SYSTEM - REMOVE ACCOUNTS

NOTE: The following procedure is provided to the dealer technician as INFORMATION ONLY. This procedure is intended for use by the vehicle owner or operator whenever issues might be encountered where the removal of all personal information, preferences and settings from the system, the cancellation of all subscription accounts and the removal of all applications (also known as apps) is desired. This procedure would be most often employed and recommended prior to ownership or control of the vehicle being transferred to another party. Once the Remove Accounts procedure has been completed, the removed information can only be restored by manually choosing the desired settings and preferences, then acquiring and installing new subscription accounts and apps.

A Remove Accounts (also known as Return To New/RTN) procedure is available for the Uconnect(TM) Access system within the Radio Receiver Module (RRM) (also known as the radio or the head unit). This procedure is also known as the Clean Wipe procedure or the Factory Reset of the RRM. Regardless of what you wish to call it, this procedure removes all user specific settings, preferences, applications and accounts from the RRM. This procedure differs from the Reinstall Applications procedure in that it reloads only the factory settings and software to the RRM.

The Remove Accounts procedure can be initiated by one of three methods:
- Through the touchscreen of the RRM.

- Through the Uconnect(TM) Call Center (ASSIST button in inside rear view mirror).

- Through the Uconnect(TM) Owners web site.

To initiate the Remove Accounts procedure through the touchscreen:

1. Navigate through the My Stuff > Settings > Remove Accounts menus to the Remove Accounts screen.

2. Use the scroll bar on the right to scroll up and down to view and read the entire screen contents.

3. Review the Warning: Remove Accounts text screen then press the Continue soft key to move to the Authentication screen, or press the Cancel soft key to abort the Remove Accounts procedure.

4. Enter the Uconnect ID: and Password: data on the Remove Accounts Authentication screen.

5. Press the Continue soft key to continue the Remove Accounts procedure, the Help soft key for additional information or the Cancel soft key to abort the Remove Accounts procedure.

6. Enter the Uconnect ID: and Wallet PIN (4 to 6 digit number) : data on the next Remove Accounts Wallet Login screen.

7. Confirm the account, Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and subscription cancellation data on the Remove Acceptance screen.

8. Press the Continue soft key to begin the Remove Accounts procedure, the Help soft key for additional information or the Cancel soft key to abort the Remove Accounts procedure.

9. When the Remove Accounts Complete screen appears, the Remove Accounts procedure has completed. Press the Continue soft key to return to the previous menu. The RRM will now begin default services operation.
