B00B5-95-DRIVER SEAT TRACK POSITION RESTRAINTS SENSOR-INCORRECT ASSEMBLY
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.
Theory of Operation
When powered, the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) sends a test current to the seat track position sensors to verify the integrity of the sensor and wiring.During this test, the sensors discovered are checked for agreement with the pre-programmed and learned vehicle configuration of components assigned to the module.
- When Monitored:
The ORC checks for the presence of a Driver Seat Track Position Sensor (valid sensor current) once at every power up during the module initialization process.
- Set Condition:
This DTC sets when the ORC detects the presence of Driver Seat Track Position sensor (valid sensor current) and the sensor is disabled in the configuration. Once set, this DTC is latched for the entire power cycle.
Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Restraint System Pre-Diagnostic Procedure.
Diagnostic Test
1. CHECK FOR ACTIVE INTERNAL FAULTS, IGNITION FAULTS, AND BATTERY FAULTS IN THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER (ORC)
NOTE: Make sure the battery is fully charged.
1. With the scan tool, read Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) DTCs.
Does the scan tool display any active DTCs relating to internal faults, ignition faults, or battery faults?
Yes
- Diagnose and repair the DTCs. Testing and Inspection.
No
- Go To 2
2. VERIFY THAT DTC IS ACTIVE
1. With the scan tool, erase ORC DTCs.
2. Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds and then turn the ignition on.
3. Wait 2 minutes, and then with the scan tool, read ORC DTCs.
Does the scan tool display active: B00B5-95-DRIVER SEAT TRACK POSITION SENSOR - INCORRECT ASSEMBLY?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Restraint System Verification Test.
3. VERIFY SENSORS
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Inspect the Driver seat wiring for Seat Position Sensors.
Are Seat Position Sensor present?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
WARNING:
Turn the ignition off, disconnect the battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
WARNING:
If the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) is dropped at any time, it must be replaced. Failure to take the proper precautions can result in accidental airbag deployment.
Replace the ORC. Occupant Restraint Controller - Removal.
- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Restraint System Verification Test.
4. VERIFY ORC PART NUMBER AND CONFIGURATION
1. With the scan tool verify the ORC part number and configuration.
Is the ORC part number and configuration correct?
Yes
- Disconnect the Driver Seat Track Position Sensor connector and tie wrap the connector to the wire harness.
- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Restraint System Verification Test.
No
- Repair complete.
- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Restraint System Verification Test.
