B22A5-00-ELECTRONIC PEDESTRIAN PROTECTION MODULE DTC PRESENT

Theory of Operation

NOTE:
The DTC B2722-00-EPPM UNLOCKED - ALL DEPLOYMENT DISABLED will also set and should be diagnosed first Testing and Inspection . Upon running the Initialize EPPM procedure the DTC B22A5-00-ELECTRONIC PEDESTRIAN PROTECTION MODULE DTC PRESENT will go from Active to Stored status.

- When Monitored:

With the ignition on.

- Set Condition:

This DTC will set if the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) receives an the EPPM message indicating a fault is present as an active Electronic Pedestrian Protection Module (EPPM) DTC setting within the ORC. The DTC will change from Active to Stored status after the EPPM deployment readiness status becomes Locked.





Diagnostic Test
VERIFY ACTIVE ORC and EPPM DTC

2. With the scan tool, read the ORC/EPPM active DTCs.

Does the scan tool display active ORC: B22A5-00-ELECTRONIC PEDESTRIAN PROTECTION MODULE DTC PRESENT and B2722-00-EPPM UNLOCKED - ALL DEPLOYMENT DISABLED DTCS?

Yes

- Refer to DTC B2722-00-EPPM UNLOCKED - ALL DEPLOYMENT DISABLED DTC. B2722.

No

- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Restraint System Verification Test.
