U1194-01
U1194-01-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH PASSENGER SIDE BLIND SPOT SENSOR - GENERAL ELECTRICAL FAILURE
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.
- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.
- Set Condition:
The Left Blind Spot Sensor (LBSS) does not receive messages from the Right Blind Spot Sensor (RBSS).
Diagnostic Test
1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The condition that caused this code to set is not present at this time. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
2. (F921) FUSED IGNITION OUTPUT (RUN) CIRCUIT OPEN
1. Disconnect the Right Blind Spot Sensor (RBSS) harness connector.
2. Turn the ignition on.
3. Using a volt meter, measure the voltage of the (F921) Fused Ignition Output (RUN) circuit.
Is voltage present?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Repair the (F921) Fused Ignition Switch Output (RUN) circuit for an open or short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
3. (Z902) GROUND CIRCUIT(S) OPEN
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Using an ohm meter, measure the resistance between ground and the (Z902) Ground circuits at the RBSS harness connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- Repair the (Z902) Ground circuit(s) for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
4. CHECK THE (D264) AND (D265) CAN IHS BUS CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. Measure the resistance of the (D264) CAN IHS Bus (-) circuit between the Rear CAN IHS Star Connector C4 harness connector and the RBSS harness connector
3. Measure the resistance of the (D265) CAN IHS Bus (+) circuit between the Rear CAN IHS Star Connector C4 harness connector and the RBSS harness connector.
Is resistance below 5.0 Ohms on both circuits?
Yes
- Replace the Right Blind Spot Sensor. Blind Spot Sensor - Removal.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Repair the (D265) or (D264) CAN IHS Bus circuit for an open. Inspect the connector for damage.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
