B25A9-00-FRONT DRIVER DOOR HANDLE SENSE

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information .

NOTE: Before proceeding, check the handle for any foreign material, or binding, that could cause a sticking situation to the handle or switch.

- When Monitored:
During the Passive Entry or Keyless Go event.

- Set Condition:
When the RF Hub module senses a door handle hall sensor or lock switch failure or a continuous activation for over two (2) minutes. To retry to set this code, may take over four (4) minutes.





1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION

NOTE: If there are any other active RF Hub DTCs, perform the diagnostic procedure for them before proceeding.

1. Turn the ignition on.
2. Using the scan tool, record and erase the DTCs.
3. With the scan tool, select "Diagnostic Procedures", "Reset ECU" and "RFH" and perform the routine.
4. Open the driver door window.
5. Turn the ignition off and close all doors.
6. Have the FOBIK outside the car and within 10cm. and 1.5 m. (4 in. and 5 ft.) from the window.
7. Lock and Unlock the Driver Door by the outside handle four (4) times.
8. Open the Driver Door by pulling the handle.
9. Turn the ignition on.
10. Using the scan tool, read the Active DTCs and wait four (4) minutes.

Does the scan tool display: B25A9-00-FRONT DRIVER DOOR HANDLE SENSE as active?

Yes

- Go To 3

No

- Go To 2

2. DOOR HANDLE OPERATION

In the previous step, did the Door Handle Lock and Unlock the door as it should?

Yes

- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To 3

3. DOOR HANDLE BRACKET
1. Remove the Driver Door Handle. Front Exterior Handle - Removal.
2. Using a non-magnetic screwdriver or knife, check for the presence of a small magnet in the door handle bracket. The magnet is encased in the upper center of the bracket.

Did you feel the magnet pull on the metal tool as it should?

Yes

- Go To 4

No

- Replace the Door Handle Bracket. Front Door Carrier Plate - Removal.
- With the scan tool, select "Diagnostic Procedures", "Reset ECU" and "RFH" and perform the routine.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST.Body Verification Test.

4. DOOR HANDLE OR RF HUB
1. Go to the Passenger Front Door.
2. Open the Passenger Front window.
3. Turn the ignition off and close all doors.
4. Have the FOBIK outside the car and within 10cm. and 1.5 m. (4 in. and 5 ft.) from the window.
5. Lock and Unlock the Passenger Front Door by the outside handle four (4) times.
6. Using the handle lock switch, lock the doors.
7. Open the Passenger Front Door by pulling the handle.

Did the Passenger Door Handle Lock and Unlock the door as it should?

Yes

- Replace the Driver Exterior Door Handle. Front Exterior Handle - Installation.
- With the scan tool, select "Diagnostic Procedures", "Reset ECU" and "RFH" and perform the routine.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST.Body Verification Test.

No

- Replace the RF-HUB. Radio Frequency Module (RF Hub) - Removal.
- Perform the RADIO FREQUENCY HUB VERIFICATION TEST. RF Hub Verification Test.
