THIS BULLETIN SUPERSEDES SERVICE BULLETIN 08-006-12, DATED JANUARY 27, 2012 WHICH SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM YOUR FILES. ALL REVISIONS ARE HIGHLIGHTED WITH **ASTERISKS** AND INCLUDE A ADDITIONAL VEHICLES WITH UPDATED SOFTWARE TO ADDRESS AN ADDITIONAL ISSUE FOR THE POLICE VEHICLES. REFER TO THE SYMPTOM/CONDITIONS FOR DETAILS ON THE UPDATE.

HELP USING THE wiTECH DIAGNOSTIC APPLICATION FOR FLASHING AN ECU IS AVAILABLE BY SELECTING "HELP" THEN "HELP CONTENTS" AT THE TOP OF THE wiTECH DIAGNOSTIC APPLICATION WINDOW.

THE wiTECH SOFTWARE LEVEL MUST BE AT RELEASE 12.02 OR HIGHER TO PERFORM THIS PROCEDURE.

SUBJECT:
Flash: Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) Software Enhancements

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves flash reprogramming the Instrument Cluster with new software.

MODELS:

2011 (LX) 300

2011 (LD) Charger

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles built between December 15, 2010 (MDH 1215XX) and **November 29,2011 (MDH 1129XX)**.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

The customer may complain of following conditions:

^ The EVIC does not retain the unit setting (US/Metric) selected in user settings after the cluster has gone into sleep mode

^ The TPMS display screen may upon rare occasion appear in the EVIC without user input..

^ Engine hours and idle hours will not accumulate while the vehicle is in neutral and the parking brake is set.

^ Police Vehicles ONLY - The cluster back lighting is too bright at night in police stealth mode while the headlights are off.

NOTE:
**Any police vehicles flashed with software version 11.38.00 may have caused their engine idle time to change to a value greater than 65,000 hours, this flash will repair that concern. All police vehicle with sales code (AHB) Police Group and (JDN) 260 KPH, should be automatically reflashed.**.

DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH(TM)) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in TechCONNECT, verify no DTC's are set. If DTC's are present record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.

If the customer experience any of the above listed Symptom/Conditions perform the repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

NOTE:
Install a battery charger to ensure battery voltage does not drop below 13.2 volts. Do not allow the charging voltage to climb above 13.5 volts during the flash process.

NOTE:
If this flash process is interrupted/aborted, the flash should be restarted.

1. Flash reprogram the Intrusion module. Help using the wiTECH Diagnostic Application for flashing the Intrusion module is made available through the wiTECH Diagnostic Application. For instructions select the "HELP" tab on upper portion of the wiTECH window, then "HELP CONTENTS". This will open the Welcome to wiTECH Help screen where help topics can be selected.

2. Clear any DTC's that may have been set in other modules due to reprogramming. The wiTECH application will automatically present all DTCs after the flash and allow the tech to clear them.
