Camshaft Position Sensor - Removal

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable (1).





2. Lift the engine cover retaining grommets off the ball studs and remove the engine cover (2).





3. Disconnect the electrical connector (4) at the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor (1).
4. Remove the CMP sensor retaining bolt (3).
5. Using a slight rotating motion, carefully remove the CMP sensor from the timing chain cover (2).
6. Check the condition of the sensor O-ring, replace if necessary.
