B1001-52-RKE FOB - NOT ACTIVATED

Theory of Operation

The RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) Fob can be the right one for the vehicle but if the customer wants, he can have the dealer delete a key. It may be the one that was lost. Once it is deleted, it cannot be activated again.

- When Monitored:
Continuously whenever the Body Control Module (BCM) is awake.

- Set Condition:
When the key is inserted into the ignition switch and the BCM recognizes that the present key has been disabled.





TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. With the scan tool, record and erase the DTCs.
2. Be sure the ignition on.
3. Wait 30 seconds.
4. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs.

Does the scan tool display; B1001-52-RKE FOB - NOT ACTIVATED?

Yes

- Replace and program the RKE Fob.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. The RKE Fob that set this code is not present in the ignition at this time.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
