B1003-09-RF MODULE - COMPONENT FAILURE

Theory of Operation

The Radio Frequency (RF) Module in an internal component in the Body Control Module. If it fails, the BCM must be replaced.

- When Monitored:
Continuously whenever the Body Control Module (BCM) is awake.

- Set Condition:
When the Radio Frequency Module, which is an internal component in the BCM, is not functioning properly, this code will set.





TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. With the scan tool, record and erase the DTCs.
2. Turn the ignition off.
3. Close both doors.
4. Try to operate the Door Locks with the RKE Fob several times.
5. Turn the ignition on.
6. Try to start the engine
7. Wait 30 seconds.
8. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs.

Does the scan tool display; B1003-09-RF MODULE - COMPONENT FAILURE?

Yes

- Replace the Body Control Module. Body Control Module - Removal.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. If this DTC ever returns, replace the Body Control Module. Body Control Module - Removal.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
