B1006-4A-SIM FAILURE - INCORRECT COMPONENT INSTALLED

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.

- When Monitored:
When the ignition is cycled on.

- Set Condition:
The DTC will set if the Vehicle Tracking Module (VTM) detects that the SIM card is missing or has been changed.





CHECK FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. With the scan tool, erase the VTM DTCs.
2. Cycle the ignition switch from on to off, wait five seconds and then back to on.
3. With the scan tool, read the VTM DTCs.

Does the scan tool display: B1006-4A-SIM FAILURE - INCORRECT COMPONENT INSTALLED as active?

Yes

- Remove the Vehicle Tracking Module. Vehicle Tracking Module - Removal.
- Remove the internal battery from the VTM to access the SIM card. If the SIM card is missing or incorrect contact the Vehicle Tracking Service Provider.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
