B12BF-09-FPS FIRE PREVENTION SYSTEM ACTIVATION - COMPONENT FAILURE

- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.
- Set Condition:
The Body Control Module (BCM) receives a message from the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) module indicating that FPS is active due to an event.
INFORMATIONAL DTC
NOTE: This is an informational DTC and may set if the ORC module determined an event occurred requiring FPS activation. Prior to diagnosing this DTC, repair all other DTCs or repair the vehicle as necessary.
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs.
3. Wait 30 seconds.
4. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- If the scan tool still displays this DTC as active after all other repairs have been completed, replace the BCM. Body Control Module - Removal.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
