Seat Temperature Relay: Description and Operation

DESCRIPTION

The relay (1) used for each front heated seat is an International Standards Organization (ISO) type relay. Relays conforming to ISO specifications have common physical dimensions, current capacities, terminal functions and patterns. The heated seat relays are electromechanical devices that switch battery current through a fuse in the Power Distribution Center (PDC) to its respective front heated seat elements. A heated seat relay is energized when the relay coil is provided a ground path by the control circuitry within the Body Control Module (BCM).

One heated seat relay is mounted underneath each front seat.
