A/C Liquid Line - Removal






REMOVAL

WARNING: Refer to the applicable Warnings and Cautions for this system before performing the following operation Warning and Caution . Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.





1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the engine trim cover.
3. Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system Refrigerant System Recovery.
4. Remove the nut (3) that secures the A/C liquid line (4) to the A/C expansion valve (1).
5. Disconnect the A/C liquid line from the A/C expansion valve and remove and discard the O-ring seal.





6. Remove the A/C pressure transducer (1) A/C Pressure Transducer - Removal.
7. Disconnect the fuel supply and return lines from the engine and position them out of the way Service and Repair.
8. Disengage the A/C liquid line (2) from the plastic retaining bracket (3) located on the dash panel, behind the engine.
9. Disengage the A/C liquid line from the plastic retaining bracket (4) located on the right strut tower.





10. Position the engine coolant reservoir out of the way Coolant Recovery Bottle - Removal.
11. Disengage the A/C liquid line (1) from the plastic retaining bracket (2) located on the right side of the engine compartment.






NOTE: Front bumper beam removed from view for clarity.

12. Remove the front fascia.
13. Remove the bolt (4) that secures the A/C liquid line (1) and the A/C discharge line (2) to the A/C condenser tapping block (3).
14. Disconnect the A/C liquid and discharge lines from the A/C condenser.
15. Separate the A/C liquid line from the A/C discharge line and remove and discard the dual plain seals.
16. Remove the A/C liquid line from the engine compartment.
17. Install plugs in, or tape over, all the opened refrigerant line fittings and expansion valve and condenser ports.
