B0111-2F
B0111-2F-DRIVER REMOTE ACCELERATION SENSOR (SATELLITE) - SIGNAL ERRATIC
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.
Theory of Operation
The Driver Remote Acceleration Sensor (Satellite) (Left Side Impact Sensor 1) is mounted near the base of the B-pillar. Restraints - Description. The impact sensors perform their own self test using power supplied by the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) then communicate this status back to the ORC with periodic updates. The repair of this fault condition involves verifying the integrity of the wiring between the ORC and the sensor. A short to voltage fault on the door pressure sensor wiring can cause a loss of comm side impact code to set and the possible replacement of a good side impact sensor. The door pressure sensor is hardwired to the side impact sensor which is hard wired to the ORC creating a daisy chain circuit. The short to battery fault in a loss of comm or internal circuit failure of the door pressure sensor can cause the side impact sensor on the same side to set a loss of comm code.
- When Monitored:
The Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) continuously communicates with the Driver Remote Acceleration Sensor (Satellite) (Left Side Impact Sensor 1) over the sensor signal circuit. The sensor communication and on board diagnostics are powered by the ORC signal.
- Set Condition:
This code will set, if the ORC and the Driver Remote Acceleration Sensor (Satellite) (Left Side Impact Sensor 1) do not establish and maintain valid data communications. The DTC will become Active after the fault has set for a minimum of 2.5 seconds. The DTC will go from active to stored after the ORC to Driver Door Remote Acceleration Sensor (Satellite) communication fault has been removed or the suspect sensor has been replaced for greater than 2.5 seconds. The Multifunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) will set in the instrument cluster.
