C1214-55-EOL VEHICLE CONFIGURATION - NOT CONFIGURED

- When Monitored:
Continuous.
- Set Condition:
The Electronic Power Steering (EPS) Module fails to receive a valid set of vehicle configuration data from the Body Control Module (BCM).
NOTE: Make sure the battery is fully charged before proceeding.
1. DTC IS ACTIVE
NOTE: If multiple DTCs are present, inspect the wiring and harness connector at the EPS Assembly.
1. Turn ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs.
3. With the scan tool, read the DTCs in the EPS Module.
Is this DTC status Active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test complete. The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
2. COMMUNICATION DTCS
Does the scan tool display: U1700-87-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH BCM?
Yes
- Perform the NO RESPONSE FROM BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) diagnostic procedure No Response From BCM (Body Control Module).
No
- Go To 3
3. COMMUNICATION DTCS
Does the scan tool display: U1700-86-IMPLAUSIBLE DATA RECEIVED FROM BCM?
Yes
- Perform the U1700-86-IMPLAUSIBLE DATA RECEIVED FROM BCM diagnostic procedure U1700-86.
No
- Go To 4
4. BODY CONTROL MODULE CONFIGURATION
1. Using the scan tool, verify that the BCM has been configured.
Has the BCM been configured?
Yes
- Test complete. Investigate repair history and verify proper installation procedures have been followed.
No
- Replace the BCM. Body Control Module - Removal.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
