P0603
P0603-INTERNAL CONTROL MODULE KEEP ALIVE MEMORY (KAM) ERROR
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.
Theory of Operation
The Transmission Control Module (TCM) performs basic system checks to ensure proper controller operation. This Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) sets if the calculated check sum in RAM is different from check sum value in EEPROM.
- When Monitored:
Ignition off then on.
- Set Condition:
When the calculated check sum in RAM is different from check sum value in EEPROM.
Always perform the AW60T Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.
CHECK THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM)
Repair
- Using the schematics as a guide, check the Transmission Control Module (TCM) terminals and connectors for corrosion, damage, or terminal push out. Pay particular attention to all power and ground circuits. Check for any Service Information Tune-ups or Service Bulletins for possible causes that may apply. If no problems are found, replace and program the Transmission Control Module Assembly (TCM). AW60T TCM Programming Procedure.
- Perform the AW60T VERIFICATION TEST. AW60T Transmission Verification Test.
