U110C-LOST FUEL LEVEL MESSAGE

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.

Theory of Operation

The fuel level signal is a direct input to the Body Control Module (BCM). The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) receives the fuel level signal from the BCM over the CAN C bus circuit.

- When Monitored:
With the ignition on, battery voltage above 10.38 volts.

- Set Condition:
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) does not receive a fuel level signal over the CAN C BUS circuit for a duration of 4.8 seconds. The circuit is constantly monitored.

Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting Procedure.

Diagnostic Test

1. ACTIVE DTC

NOTE: Diagnose and repair any Lost Communication or CAN C BUS DTCs before continuing with this diagnostic procedure.

1. Ignition on, engine not running.
2. With a scan tool, select View DTCs.

Is the status Active for this DTC?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Intermittent Condition Test.

2. CHECK OTHER MODULES FOR LOST FUEL LEVEL MESSAGE DTCS
1. With a scan tool, check if any other modules have a Lost Fuel Level Message DTC present.

Were any Lost Fuel Level Message DTCs present in any other modules?

Yes

- Replace and program the Body Control Module (BCM).
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
- Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Powertrain Verification Test.
