Exterior Handle Lamp Bar - Removal

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Reach under the liftgate handle and light bar unit to access and depress the latch tab.




3. Remove the inner liftgate trim panel by removing the push pins (1).





4. Disconnect the liftgate switch and license plate light connector (1).






CAUTION: Do not close the liftgate onto the latch since there is no power to the switch.

5. Remove the four nuts that support the housing (1).
6. Cover the liftgate catch so that the latch will not lock. Lower the liftgate.





7. Remove the license plate lighting/handle housing (3) away from the liftgate (1).





8. Remove the license plate lights (3) by inserting a pocket screwdriver in the access hole by the lights and releasing the locking tab (2).
9. Disconnect the light electrical connector.
