Outside Rearview Mirror Glass - Removal

REMOVAL





1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Push mirror glass case (1) inward at the lower left corner to access the top area (2) between the glass case (1) and the mirror assembly.





3. Using a flashlight, locate the slot between the glass case retainer (2) and the tab (1) on the mirror assembly's motor.





4. Insert a small flat bladed screwdriver into the slot between the glass case retainer and the tab on the mirror assembly's motor.
5. Gently twist the screwdriver to disengage the tab from the retainer.

NOTE: An audible snap is normal.

6. Disengage the remaining glass case retainers using the screwdriver until the glass case (2) is free from the mirror assembly (1).





7. If equipped, disconnect both heater wires (1) by pulling on thumb tabs.
8. Remove the glass case (3) from the mirror assembly (2) and set aside for re-use.
