Drive Cable - Removal






REMOVAL





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the convertible cover, Convertible Cover - Removal.
3. Remove the header cover, Cover, Header - Removal.
4. Using a flat head screwdriver, inserting into the opening between the upper wind deflector (1) and the lifting block (2). Gently pry inward on the lifting block (2) to disengage.





5. Accessing from the vehicle interior, remove the front fastener (1) securing the frame to the vehicle. Repeat on the opposite side.





6. From the interior of the vehicle, starting from the front corner and working back, drill out the five rivets (1) securing the rail to the frame.





7. From the top of the frame lift up on the rail (1) and prop up using a small block.
8. Remove the cable stop (3) by pressing downward in the opening located forward of the lifting block (2).






NOTE: Rear shelf trim panel removed for clarity.

9. The cables can be cycled manually using a socket or the wrench provided in the vehicle's tool kit attached to the motor (1), accessible in the opening located in the trim panel under the rear shelf.





10. Cycle the bowden cable (2) forward until the front portion of the sledge (1) protrudes from the rail (1).
11. Disengage the cable (2) from the sledge (1).





12. Manually pull the cable (1) forward to remove.
