Service Port HVAC: Description and Operation

DESCRIPTION





The high side service port (1) is located on the A/C discharge line, near the A/C compressor (3).

The low side service port (2) is located on the A/C suction line, also near the A/C compressor.

NOTE: Protective caps aid in service port sealing and help protect the refrigerant system from contamination. Remember to always reinstall the protective caps back onto the service ports when refrigerant system service is complete.

Each of the service ports has a threaded plastic protective cap installed over it from the factory. Be sure to reinstall the protective caps when refrigerant system service is complete.

The high side and low side A/C service port valve cores and the protective caps are serviceable items.
