Speed Control Switch - Installation

INSTALLATION

WARNING: To avoid serious or fatal injury on vehicles equipped with airbags, disable the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, airbag, seat belt tensioner, impact sensor or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the SRS. Failure to take the proper precautions could result in accidental airbag deployment.

NOTE: If equipped with Blue And Me (1) steering wheel switch pod in the left steering wheel spoke (2) the pigtail wire harness and connector for the speed control switch pod and the Blue And Me switch pod is shared. Both switch pods are removed and replaced only as a single unit.

1. Position the speed control switch pod and (if equipped) the Blue And Me switch pod to the steering wheel.
2. Reconnect the switch pigtail wire harness connector to the clockspring pigtail wire connector.
3. Engage the switch pigtail wire harness into the retainers within the hub cavity of the steering wheel.
4. Position the speed control switch (1) into the right spoke of the steering wheel and press down firmly and evenly until the switch pod snaps into place (2).

5. If equipped, position the Blue And Me switch pod (1) into the left spoke of the steering wheel and press down firmly and evenly until the switch pod snaps into place (2).
6. Reinstall the driver air bag onto the steering wheel. Driver Air Bag - Installation.
7. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
