Steering Column Lock Housing - Removal
REMOVAL
1. Remove the steering wheel Removal.
2. Remove the Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) (3) from the steering column (2) Clockspring - Removal.
3. Insert the key (2) and turn the key cylinder (3) to the RUN position.
4. Insert an appropriate tool into the slot (1) formed into the lock cylinder housing depressing the key cylinder retaining tab.
5. Pull the key cylinder and key straight out of the lock cylinder housing as one unit.
6. Remove security ring (2). The ring will hang in the vehicle.
7. Remove steering column assembly from the vehicle Steering Column - Removal.
8. Protect the column assembly with a cover, exposing only the steering column lock housing.
9. Using an appropriate cutting tool, cut slots in each retaining bolt (1).
10. Using the slots created in the previous step, remove the retaining bolts (1) from the lock housing, then remove the lock housing from the column.
