Rear Spindle - Installation






INSTALLATION






NOTE: The spindle bolts have fastener adhesive on them and are required to be replaced with new bolts every time they are removed.

1. Place the rear spindle in position and install four NEW bolts (1) securing the spindle to the axle. Tighten the mounting bolts to 125 Nm (92 ft. lbs.).
2. Tighten the mounting bolts to 125 Nm (92 ft. lbs.).
3. On vehicles equipped with antilock brakes, install the wheel speed sensor head in the spindle assembly. Install and tighten the mounting screw (2) to 7 Nm (62 in. lbs.).





4. Slide the hub and bearing (4) onto the spindle (5).
5. Install a NEW hub nut (1) and washer (2) on the spindle and tighten to 280 Nm (207 ft. lbs.).
6. Install the brake rotor (3) and caliper assembly (6). Install and tighten the caliper adapter mounting bolts (7) to 57 Nm (42 ft. lbs.) Brake Rotor - Installation.





7. Install the hub and bearing dust cap (2).
8. Install rotor mounting pins (1) and tighten to 12 Nm (106 in. lbs.).





9. Install tire and wheel assembly Tires And Wheels - Installation.
10. Lower the vehicle.
11. Pump the brake pedal several times to ensure the vehicle has a firm brake pedal before moving the vehicle.
