Subject: Owner Notification Program 88S55 1986 and 1987 Aerostar Sliding Door Mechanism


AFFECTED VEHICLES All 1986 and 1987 Aerostars built from May 31, 1985 through August 7, 1987.

REASONS FOR THIS PROGRAM

The durability of the sliding door mechanism has not met expectations. This program will modify the sliding door mechanism for improved durability.

REFUNDS Refunds will be provided to owners who have paid for service as a result of this condition. Refunds will include the costs of parts, labor and any deductable charges.

For refund, customers must submit proof of repair to their dealer on or before November 30, 1989.

Dealers must submit separate warranty claim Form 1863 for owner refund.

CARES/OASIS YOU MUST USE CARES OR OASIS TO DETERMINE IF AN AEROSTAR IS ELIGIBLE FOR THIS PROGRAM.


DEALER-OWNER CONTACT

Contact any owner whose name is not on the list. Give the owner a copy of the Owner letter.

DISTRICT CONTACT

Advise district office if:
- an owner cannot be contacted.
- an owner does not make a service date.

FPSD CONTACT Talk with your FPSD Service Zone Manager about any
Program questions.

REIMBURSEMENT FORM 1864

Submit Form 1864 for all completed vehicles.
