GLASS - FRONT BODY SIDE WINDOW UNEVEN - VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE 11/12/88

LIGHT TRUCK: 1986-89 AEROSTAR
ISSUE: A left hand body side sliding window that is not flush to the fixed glass module may be caused by two (2) sliding window attaching studs at the "C" pillar.
ACTION: Install a new body side window that has three (3) studs in revised attaching locations. Refer to the following procedure for service details.
1. Remove the existing body side window assembly.
2. Obtain a new body side window assembly that has three (3) relocated attaching studs.

3. Using the new body side window assembly as a template, position it to the vehicle and mark the location of the three (3) new studs on the body side panel, Figure 1.
4. Remove the body side window and drill three (3) new 23/64" (9 mm) holes.
5. Apply body tape over the old holes, Figure 1.
6. Install the new body side window with eight (8) retaining nuts.
NOTE: ONE (1) EXTRA UNCAPPED NUT FOR WAGONS, (N621901-S36) OR CAPPED NUT FOR WINDOW VANS, (N804337-S36) IS REQUIRED FOR THE EXTRA STUD ON THE NEW BODY SIDE WINDOW ASSEMBLY.
