LIGHT TRUCK: 1985-89 BRONCO II, RANGER 1986-89 AEROSTAR

This TSB article is being republished in its entirety to expand the model year coverage to include the 1989 model year.

ISSUE: A "squealing" noise and/or sticking condition during the first few brake applications when the brakes are cold or in the morning after an overnight rain may be caused by brake lining material that is highly sensitive to humidity.
ACTION: Install new design brake linings that are made from material that is less sensitive to humidity. Refer to the following brake lining application chart for the correct service part number. Removal and installation procedures are contained in the appropriate model year Ranger/Bronco II Shop Manual, Section 12-02-5 and Aerostar Shop Manual, Section 2-02-7.
