Tail Lamp - Water In Lamp Assembly

LIGHT TRUCK 1986-87 AEROSTAR
Water collecting inside the tail lamp assembly may be caused by the lamp lens not being fully bonded to the lamp body at the upper edge. To correct this, drill a 5/16 inch drain hole in the bottom tail lamp assembly using the following service procedure.
1. Remove the tail lamp assembly. Refer to Section 13-03-2 of the Aerostar Shop Manual.

2. Drill a 5/16 inch drain hole in the bottom of the tail lamp assembly, 1/2 inch from the edge of the lens, Figure 16.
NOTE: Remove the flash from around the edge of the 5/16 inch drain hole to allow complete drainage.
3. Reinstall the tail lamp assembly.
