Fast Idle Speed

FAST IDLE SPEED ADJUSTMENT
- Set parking brake, block wheels and place the transmission in Park (automatic) or Neutral (manual).
- Bring the engine to normal operating temperature.
- Disconnect the vacuum hose at the carburetor EGR port and cap.
- Disconnect and plug the manifold vacuum source from the air cleaner thermal vacuum switch (large port) and the air cleaner bimetallic switch.
- Place the fast idle adjustment mechanism on specified step of fast idle cam. Check/adjust fast idle rpm to specification. Specifications
- Recheck for repeatability.
- Remove cap from EGR port and connect vacuum hoses.
