ISSUE: Roof support bows that rattle against the roof panel may be caused by gaps between the support bows and roof panel.

ACTION: Install foam tape between the support bows and roof panel to eliminate the rattle. Refer to the following procedure for service details.

1. If there is a headliner in the vehicle, remove it. Refer to the appropriate model year Light Truck Shop Manual, Section 45-41 for service details.

2. Road test the vehicle to determine the location of the rattle.

3. Insert 1/4" foam tape between the support bows and roof panel as required to eliminate the rattle(s), Figure 1.

NOTE: THERE ARE NO SPECIFIC LOCATIONS WHERE THE RATTLE MAY BE LOCATED.

4. Reinstall headliner if removed in Step 1.
