Ford Motor Company is offering a no-charge Service Program M58, for the vehicle described below:

Reason For This Program
Your vehicle may have been built with a wiring assembly having connector terminals that do not properly connect to the alternator.
What Might Happen
It is possible for an electrical circuit to remain open which may result in improper operation of the electrical warning light/gauge and the battery charging system. In some instances you may have a "dead-battery".
Your Dealer Will
Inspect your vehicle and, if necessary, modify the alternator wiring terminals at no-charge to you.
Program Limitations
This Service Program will be in effect for the remainder of your new vehicle limited warranty basic coverage or through August, 1988, whichever provides the greater coverage. Your dealer will refund you for this service if you paid to have it done.
What You Should Do
Contact your Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealer as soon as possible. (Dealers have been notified of this service program and can assist you as necessary).

For a refund take your paid repair order or parts purchase receipt to your Ford dealer no later than

August 31, 1988. The dealer will process a refund if the repair was made prior to the receipt of this letter.
