ISSUE: A "popping" or "rattling" from the fuel tank area while driving on uneven roads, or when turning, may be caused by the fuel tank insulators sticking and breaking away from the steel tank.

ACTION: To correct this, install new mylarcoated fuel tank insulators which do not stick to the fuel tank. Refer to the 1987 Light Truck Shop Manual, Volume B, Section 24-50 and Figures 13 and 14 for installation procedures. Refer to the fuel tank insulator application chart on Page 35 of this TSB for the correct service part number.
