Horn Relay: Testing and Inspection
Connectors should remain connected during following test.1. Measure voltage between circuit 460 (yellow/light blue) and ground. If 12 volts are not indicated, check fuse F20A and repair or replace as required.
2. If circuit 460 (yellow/light blue) is as indicated, depress horn switch. Voltage at circuit 460 (horn relay terminal No. 4) should drop to about zero volts and horn should sound. If horn does not sound and circuit 460 remains at 12 volts, proceed to step 3.
3. Check for 12 volts at circuit 6 (yellow/light green) at horn relay terminals No. 2, if voltage is not present, replace relay, then repeat step 2.
4. If 12 volts are indicated at horn relay terminal No. 2, connect terminal No. 2 to ground. If horn sounds replace horn pad or buttons. If horn does not sound, check for 12 volts at circuit 1 (dark blue) at horn relay terminal No. 3 with terminal No. 2 grounded. If voltage is not indicated, replace relay and repeat step 2. If voltage is indicated, check horn connectors and function.
