1993 Ranger With 2.3L - Hydraulic Line Replacement
HYDRAULIC LINE REPLACEMENT
1. Remove the clutch master cylinder, tube and reservoir assembly from vehicle. Refer to the 1993 Ranger Service Manual, Page 08-02-03.
2. Remove and discard the roll pin.
a. Locate the roll pin on the clutch master cylinder.
b. Use a fine punch and a hammer to knock the roll pin out of its hole.
3. Disconnect the hydraulic line from the clutch master cylinder. Apply a slight tug on the hydraulic line away from the master cylinder outlet port.
4. Check to see that the O-ring is inside the clutch master cylinder outlet port.
^ If the existing O-ring is inside the clutch master cylinder outlet port, it may be reused.
^ If the O-ring is missing, install the new O-ring provided in the service kit.
5. Remove the plastic protective cover bag from the upper end of the new hydraulic line. Insert the hydraulic line into the clutch master cylinder outlet port.
6. Insert the new roll pin into the roll pin hole in the clutch master cylinder to retain the hydraulic line. Check to see that this connection is secured by pulling on the line away from the clutch master cylinder outlet port.
7. Bleed system per the following bench bleed procedure.
