SUBJECT: Safety Recall 89S69 1989 Ranger and Bronco II 4X4's Front Wheel Bearing Nut Retaining Key.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
1989 Ranger and Bronco II 4x4's equipped with automatic hublocks produced at the Louisville Assembly Plant from Job # 1, 1989 through April 17, 1989.
REASONS FOR RECALL
Some of these trucks may have been built without a left front wheel bearing nut retaining key.
Without a retaining key, the left front wheel bearing nut may loosen which could lead to wheel-bearing noise and possible detachment of the wheel from the axle.
To correct, inspect for a left front wheel bearing nut retaining key and install if missing.
