Rear Output Shaft Oil Seal
BORG-WARNER 1350 ELECTRONIC SHIFTMANUAL SHIFT
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove rear driveshaft from transfer case output shaft yoke and position aside.
3. Remove output shaft yoke, then the oil seal using tool Nos. 1175-AC and T50T-100 or equivalent.
4. Reverse procedure to install. Note the following:
a. Apply lubricant C1AZ-19590-B or equivalent to oil seal.
b. Install oil seal using tool Nos. T83T-7965-B and T80T-4000-W or equivalents.
c. Torque output shaft yoke retaining nut to 100-130 ft. lbs. and rear driveshaft retaining bolts to 12-15 ft. lbs.
ELECTRONIC SHIFT
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove rear driveshaft from transfer case output shaft flange and position aside.
3. Remove output shaft flange by removing nut, steel washer and rubber seal from rear output shaft.
4. Remove oil seal from rear output housing bore with seal remover tool No. 1175-AC and impact slide hammer tool No. T501-100-A or equivalents.
5. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Coat new oil seal with long life lubricant, C1AZ-19590-BA or equivalent.
b. Torque output shaft nut to 150-180 ft. lbs.
c. Torque driveshaft bolts to 61-87 ft. lbs.
