Description: The Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is a magnetic pickup that sends a signal to the processor assembly. This VSS signal tells the processor assembly the transmission output shaft RPM.

Transmission function: Shift scheduling and TV pressure control

Symptoms: Harsh engagements, firm shift feel, abnormal shift schedule, unexpected downshifts may occur at closed throttle, converter clutch engages only at Wide Open Throttle (WOT)
