Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair
Throttle Position Sensor Replacement:
1. Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor from the wiring harness.
2. Remove the TP sensor retaining screws, then remove the TP sensor.
3. Position the throttle position sensor so that the wiring harness connector is opposite the air valve.
CAUTION: Slide rotary tangs into position over throttle shaft blade, then rotate throttle position sensor CLOCKWISE ONLY to the installed position. TP sensor installation in any other manner may cause high idle speeds.
4. Install the TP sensor retaining screws, tightening to 17.7-26.5 in lb (2-3 Nm).
5. Connect the TP sensor electrical connector to the harness.
NOTE: The TP sensor is not adjustable.
