^ NOISE - "KNOCKING 99 SOUND - VEHICLES WITH 5.8L ENGINES

LIGHT TRUCK:
1992-93 BRONCO, F-150-350 SERIES

ISSUE:
A fuel system "knocking" noise may be heard on some vehicles. This is caused by fuel injector pulsations being transmitted through the fuel lines.

ACTION:
Install a new front fuel line assembly with pulse dampener. Refer to the following procedure for service details.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Relieve fuel system pressure as outlined in Section 10-101A of the 1993 Service Manual.








2. Remove the current front fuel line assembly; this is the frame-to-engine fuel line assembly. Refer to Figures 1 and 3.

3. If any material was installed to isolate the knock noise previously, remove it at this time.





4. Install the new front fuel line assembly with the pulse dampener. Refer to Figures 2 and 3 for installation.

5. Check system to make sure there are no leaks.
