LIGHT TRUCK:
1992 ECONOLINE
ISSUE:
High efforts may be required to operate. the sliding door because the center hinge assembly may interfere with the center track or the center track shield assembly.
ACTION:
Install a new hinge assembly (F2UZ-1526800-A) which provides more clearance with the center track. Refer to the following procedure for service details.
1. Remove the sliding door trim panel to gain access to the sliding door center hinge. Refer to the 1992 Econoline Service Manual, Section O1.05B, for removal procedure.
2. With the door partially open and supported at the bottom, remove the four (4) bolts that retain the center hinge assembly to the door.
3. Slide the center hinge rearward and out of the center track.
4. In reverse order, install the new center hinge to the door. Follow the adjustment procedure described in the 1992 Econoline Service Manual, Section 01-03.
5. Operate the door to check for proper operation and alignment.
6. Reinstall the door trim panel.
