Sliding Door Upper Weather Strip - Cut/Damaged

DOOR - SLIDING - UPPER WEATHER STRIP "CUT" (VEHICLES BUILT FROM JOB 1 THRU 9/30/91)


LIGHT TRUCK: 1992 ECONOLINE


ISSUE: Sliding door upper weather strip may be cut by the screws which attach the body side upper roller assembly to the sliding door.

ACTION: Replace the two screws that attach the body side door upper guide assembly to the sliding door, with new screws now available. These screws will provide additional clearance to the weather strip. Refer to the following service procedure for details.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Remove trim cover from roller assembly.

2. Replace the two hex screws attaching the body side door upper guide assembly to the sliding door with two torx head screws (N801010-S40).


3. Torque the screws to 24-28 N-m (18-20 lb.ft.).

4. Replace Cover.
