^ DOOR - SLIDING - CHECK STOP LUBRICATION - SERVICE TIPS

LIGHT TRUCK: 1992 ECONOLINE

ISSUE: The sliding door catch may bind and not operate properly because of insufficient lubrication. The 1992 Econoline door check design is new. Due to its location, lubrication can be easily overlooked.

Figure 1:

ACTION: Lube the check stop (striker) surface with multipurpose grease (D7AZ-19584-AA). It is located at the rear of the scuff plate and can be accessed with the door fully open, Figure 1.

^ Do this before attempting any part replacement.

^ As a preventative measure, lube the check (striker) surface at least once a year.
