^ NOISE - "CLICKING" SOUND FROM WIPERS DURING INTERMITTENT OPERATION
LIGHT TRUCK: 1992 AEROSTAR, BRONCO, ECONOLINE, F SUPER DUTY, F-150-350 SERIES
ISSUE:
An excessively loud "clicking" noise may be heard during intermittent wiper operation. This noise may be caused by a relay in the wiper control module.
ACTION:
Tape over the air holes on the wiper control module to reduce the noise. Refer to the following procedure for taping details.
NOTE:
SOME LEVEL OF AN AUDIBLE NOISE FROM THE WIPER CONTROL MODULE IS NORMAL DURING INTERMITTENT OPERATION. REPLACEMENT OF THE MODULE WILL NOT CORRECT THIS CONCERN.
1. Remove the wiper control module. Refer to the appropriate 1992 Light Truck Service Manual, Section 01-16A, for the removal procedure.
2. Wrap the module with "Duct" tape or the equivalent. At least one (1) layer, but not more than three (3) layers of tape should be applied.
3. Cut and slice the tape so that the mounting slots are uncovered.
4. Reinstall and check the wipers for proper operation.
