NOTE:
THESE SERVICE PARTS ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE WITH PRIOR MODEL VEHICLES.

SERVICE PROCEDURE - VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE JOB # 1, 1995

To reduce gear rattle on vehicles built before Job # 1, 1995, it is necessary to replace the clutch cover, clutch disc and flywheel assemblies with all three (3) of the above parts. No other changes are required if the vehicle is equipped with an F4TA-7003 M5HD transmission introduced into production on approximately 11/1/93.

If the transmission has the earlier F2TA prefix, there is a minor grinding operation required to the internal air deflector in the transmission (Figure 1). This is essential to provide clearance for the new clutch which will stand out approximately 0.25" (6.35 mm) farther rearward from the engine compared to the prior level clutch.

If clutch service is required on a vehicle built before Job # 1, 1995, and gear rattle reduction is not a concern, the following prior level service parts should be used as in the past:
