CLUTCH - PREMATURE WEAR - VEHICLES WITH 7.3L IDI (NON TURBO) DIESEL ENGINES AND ZF-5 TRANSMISSION

LIGHT TRUCK:
1988-94 F-250, F-350, F-47

ISSUE:
Some vehicles may exhibit premature clutch wear when the vehicles are operated in a heavy duty cycle. This may be caused by the torque capacity and friction material of the clutch disc.

ACTION:
Replace the clutch disc with an improved design clutch disc that has added copper content in the friction material. Refer to Section 08-01 of the Service Manual for installation procedures.
