ISSUE:
There may be a concern of poor performance, coolant in the oil and engine knocking and/or hydraulic lock on some vehicles. This may be caused by damage to the cylinder walls due to cooling system cavitation.

ACTION:
If resleeving of the engine is required, refer to the following for some specific details concerning resleeving.

1. Sleeving should be performed by a qualified machine shop equipped to bore cylinders to a larger diameter and insert a replacement cylinder wall into the larger bore.

2. If one (1) cylinder requires sleeving, all cylinders on that bank (left or right) should be resleeved. For example, if cylinder # 8 (driver's side rear) has a pinhole, resleeve cylinders # 2, 4, 6 and 8.

3. Add supplemental coolant additive FW-15 after resleeving.
